Mr. Guido has over thirty years of extensive industry and consulting experience. He is an internationally recognized practitioner and author in procurement strategies and strategic sourcing. In 1996, he was the lead speaker at the Promon Industries Business Conference in São Paulo, Brazil. He specializes in strategic consulting in the value chain practice with global expertise in procurement and materials management. He has directed global procurement projects during the last fifteen years. His most recent consulting projects have included procurement programs in the automotive and diversified industries and chemical practices. Major clients include Arco, BellSouth, FMC, Hughes Aircraft, ICI Chemicals, Philip Morris, and Kaiser Permanente.

Mr. Guido was Director of Procurement at a multinational $6 billion medical products and distribution company. During his eight years other positions included director in international operations strategy and manager of global planning. As staff director, he developed long range manufacturing plans that included facilities, staffing, foreign investments/divestitures, contingency plans, and technology requirements. He also designed the long-range computer system strategy that included domestic/international hardware and software plans with databases and telecommunications networks.

Prior to industry, Mr. Guido managed consulting engagements in manufacturing, distribution, maintenance, and systems. Major projects included: design of a maintenance/procurement strategy for the Alaska pipeline that determined the locations and type of maintenance for vehicles and operations reviews for both tank and helicopter companies involved in defense contracts. Realized savings from the implementation program exceeded $48 million. Other major experiences include consulting manager at Booz Allen, Systems and Planning Manager-Raychem, and Production Manager- Colgate Palmolive.

Mr. Guido holds an undergraduate degree in Business from San Jose State University and an MBA from Golden Gate University with a major in planning and controlling systems. He was a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Santa Clara. He has been published in Purchasing ("Journey into the Near Future C Multinational Purchasing Management Systems") and Purchasing World ("Don't Overlook Vendors in Your Capacity Planning").
